“Same procedure as last year, Mrs. Sophie?”

“Same procedure as every year, James!”

Every October, Nürnberg becomes the European capital of connectivity and cybersecurity when it hosts Europe’s leading trade fair for IT security. Once again, it-sa Expo&Congress 2025 proved why it has become one of the most important gatherings in EMEA for IT security professionals: vendors, customers, partners, and thought leaders from across the globe.

For Open Systems, this year’s it-sa Expo&Congress: Trends & Innovations in the IT Security Industry, was an invaluable opportunity to connect, exchange insights, and showcase how we help organizations simplify security in an increasingly complex world.

Highlights From This Year

Three people stand behind a booth at a tech conference, with “Open Systems” branding and “SASE You Can Trust” displayed above. The booth features monitors, brochures, and a large circular hanging sign overhead. We were especially excited to share perspectives through interviews with our CPO, Stefan Keller. He discussed key trends shaping the future of enterprise security and infrastructure, such as cloud transformation, or how to scale Zero Trust Network Access. Additionally, he gave a sharp overview of the most common challenges CISOs face – like AI usage and governance as well as Advanced Email Security and offered practical approaches and best practices from our 35 years of solving them.

Our conversations at the booth reflected what we’ve always believed at Open Systems: effective security isn’t about adding more tools—it’s about achieving outcomes and minimizing workload.

What Was Top-of-Mind for Visitors

Discussions at it-sa Expo&Congress 2025 revolved around the pressing issues that keep CISOs and IT teams awake at night:

  • Zero Trust: How to make the journey achievable without overwhelming complexity.
  • Cloud Security: Protecting workloads in hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • OT Security: Securely enabling external provider access while protecting critical infrastructure.

We also heard a lot about the challenges surrounding compliance in highly regulated industries, IT resource shortages, and the ongoing struggle for greater visibility and transparency.

How it-sa Expo&Congress Continues to Evolve

Having participated for several years, we’ve seen the conversations shift—from product features to strategic business enablement. Security is increasingly viewed not as a cost center, but as a driver of growth and resilience. We’re proud to contribute to that transformation and to support security leaders in turning challenges into opportunities.

Thank You for Visiting Us

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth in Hall 6 (6-320)—whether for a quick coffee, a lively discussion, or to take on our Matterhorn challenge. We created this exciting challenge together with our sister companies, Swiss Post Cybersecurity AG, Tresorit and SwissSign. We asked visitors to take on the challenge – and hopefully you were our winner or at least enjoyed getting to stop by and see each of our teams!

Your questions, insights, and feedback are what make it-sa Expo&Congress such an energizing event for us. We’re already looking forward to next year, and in the meantime, we’d love to continue the conversation. If you’d like to dive deeper into how Open Systems can help your organization, feel free to reach out.

Together, let’s keep securing the future.
